Standards

Standards

Our Services are planned and conducted in adherence to the Program Evaluation Standards of the Joint Committee on Standards for Educational Evaluation. Created in 1975, the Joint Committee is a coalition of major professional associations concerned with the quality of evaluation. The Joint Committee provides guidelines for program evaluators that are intended both for users of evaluation and for evaluators.

These Standards fall into four categories:

  1. Utility - Evaluation should serve the information needs of intended users, address pertinent questions and be responsive to the program needs.
  2. Feasibility - Evaluation should be realistic, prudent, frugal, diplomatic and should allocate evaluation resources responsibly.
  3. Propriety - Evaluation should be conducted legally, ethically and with due regard to the welfare of those involved and affected by the results.
  4. Accuracy - Evaluators should collect valid and reliable information and reach justified conclusions with impartial reporting.
